Senior Jordin Canada of the UCLA women's basketball team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 8-14.

Canada became UCLA's all-time leader in assists with 700 at Colorado. Additionally, she became the first player in the history of Pac-12 women's basketball to score over 1,800 points (now has 1,810) and dish out 700 assists. Canada is also just one of two basketball players from the Pac-12, men's or women's, to accomplish that feat, joining Gary Payton of Oregon State.

She led the Bruins to a pair of road wins last week, UCLA's first road sweep of the season. The Bruins opened with an 81-74 win at Utah on Friday (Jan. 12) and routed Colorado on Sunday (Jan. 14), 93-55. Canada scored 20 points and dished out eight assists in the win over the Utes and had 10 points and 11 assists against the Buffaloes.

This is Canada's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week of the season and the third of her career.

Also Nominated: Eloise Belanger (Women's Diving), Bronte Halligan (Women's Water Polo), Christian Hessenauer (Men's Volleyball), Kyla Ross (Women's Gymnastics), Ena Shibahara (Women's Tennis), Kris Wilkes (Men's Basketball).
