UCLA's Ross, Ohashi Earn Pac-12 Weekly Honors

After each scoring a perfect 10 at Washington on Feb. 10, UCLA's Kyla Ross and Katelyn Ohashi were awarded Pac-12 weekly honors. Ross earned her third Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week of the season and second consecutive, while Ohashi received her fourth Specialist of the Week award this year.
Ross posted the nation's highest all-around total this year, totaling a career-high 39.775 in the Bruins' 197.600-196.000 win at Washington. For the second consecutive week, she scored a perfect 10, this time recording the first 10 of her career on vault. Ross has a national-best three 10s this season and eight in her career. Additionally, Ross scored a season-high 9.975 to tie for first place on the balance beam and had second-place marks of 9.925 on floor and 9.875 on uneven bars. The junior and 2012 Olympic gold medalist ranks third nationally in the all-around and on bars, fourth on floor and sixth on beam.
Ohashi was nearly perfect on the day, scoring her second perfect 10 of the year on floor exercise and her seventh overall perfect 10 in her career, and nabbing a 9.975 on the balance beam for the third time this season. Ohashi has scored 9.9 or better on all 10 routines she has competed this season and in 18 consecutive routines dating back to last year. She remains ranked No. 1 in the nation on beam and floor, averaging 9.955 on beam and 9.975 on floor. Ohashi has totaled eight Pac-12 Specialist of the Week awards in her career, one away from the conference record set by her former teammate Christine Peng-Peng Lee.
Joining the two Bruins in winning a Pac-12 weekly awards is Freshman of the Week Madi Dagen of Oregon State.
