  • Induction:
    1984
Gail Goodrich was a star guard on legendary coach John Wooden's first NCAA basketball champions, a relatively undersized squad that utilized experience and quickness to overtake opponents. Goodrich led that team by averaging 21.5 points per game, then averaged 24.6 points per game as a senior to lead the 1965 champions. He was the school's all-time leading scorer by the end of his career, and he went on to play 14 seasons in the NBA, averaging 18.6 points per game. He averaged a team-best 25.9 points per game in 1972 to help the Los Angeles Lakers to the NBA title.
