Post-game Quotes
UCLA head coach Bob Toledo:
"First of all, I want to thank the crowd - the kids
appreciated the fan support. I'm very proud of the way
the defense played - they created a lot of turnovers.
They were challenged, and they met the challenge."
"I thought our kicking game, with the exception of the blocked field goals, was good. Danny Farmer played a phenomenal game. He's back, he's healthy and he looked good."
"It was hard to get to the Oregon quarterback, they protected him well."
"The big thing with Cory is he got hurt in the Fresno State game, and that set him back a bit. Like I've said before, he reminds me of a young Cade McNown. He has a lot of fight - I thought Cory played outstanding. He made some nice plays tonight."
"We created a lot of our own agony, but we pulled it out."
UCLA Quarterback Cory Paus:
"I thought I played all right. I need to take back the
two interceptions and missing the corner in the red
zone. If I had done that, it would have been a good
game."
"I've got to play flawless football, basically. With this offense, that's what you have to do."
Oregon head coach Mike Bellotti:
"I'm very proud of the kids. I told them in the fourth
quarter that this could be the greatest comeback in
the history of the school. We just needed to believe
in it, and we did. We came up short on the scoreboard
but nowhere else."
"Turnovers are an amazing thing in this game, we've said it many, many times. They're a big change momentum-wise."
"Our quarterback tonight did not play as well as he's capable of. He's still somewhat of a rookie out there, but that's not an excuse. A.J. (Feeley) will be the first to tell you that he expects more out of himself, and so do I."
(About the UCLA defensive line): "They're a talented group up front. They were able to tee off without a running back for a while. We were not opposing much of a running threat."
