Seven Bruins Earn All-America Honors in 1997-98

Seven UCLA student-athletes earned GTE Academic All-America honors during the 1997-98 school year.
Senior shot put star Nada Kawar, with a 3.9 grade-point average in biology, earned first-team honors on the women's Spring At-Large team.
Place kicker/punter Chris Sailer and center Shawn Stuart were selected to the second unit of the football Academic All-America team. Other second-team selections include soccer player Josh Keller (men's Fall-Winter At-Large) and cross country runner Katherina Kechris (women's Fall-Winter At-Large). Third-team selections were water polo goalie Parsa Bonderson (men's Fall-Winter At-Large) and javelin thrower Josh Johnson (men's Spring At-Large).
