LOS ANGELES - UCLA football and men's volleyball player Danny Farmer (Los Angeles, CA) and Bruin track and field star Seilala Sua (Cooper City, FL) were named today as 1999-2000 Pacific-10 Conference Medal winners. A Conference Medal is awarded annually to each member institution's outstanding male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.

Farmer, an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship winner, was a two-sport star during his Bruin career. In football, he helped the Bruins win back-to-back Pac-10 titles in 1997 and 1998 and ranks No.1 in school history for career receiving yards (3,020) and No. 2 in career receptions (159). As a volleyball player, he helped the school win NCAA titles in 1996 and 1998.

With six NCAA Outdoor titles to her credit, Sua recently became the winningest female athlete in NCAA Outdoor Championships history. Sua won an unprecedented four consecutive NCAA Outdoor discus titles and also completed the shot put double-double by winning both indoor and outdoor titles this year. During her four-year NCAA Indoor/Outdoor career, she amassed a UCLA record 107 career points, including 18 at this year's NCAA Indoor Championships to help the Bruins win their first-ever indoor title.
