The loss snaps a five-game winning streak at the Rose Bowl. The last time UCLA lost at home was October 30, 1999 against Arizona.

Junior tailback DeShaun Foster, out with a broken hand since the Arizona State game on September 30, was cleared to play in this game an hour before kick off. He did not start and wore a plastic splint on his hand. On his first series of the game, UCLA's second series, he carried the ball five times for 18 yards and UCLA's first touchdown of the game, a two-yard run. He finished the game with 18 carries for 56 yards. Foster surpassed Shawn Wills (1,637) for 18th place on the UCLA career rushing yardage list.

Junior safety Marques Anderson recovered two fumbles in the first half of the game.

UCLA has trailed in the first quarter of all seven games this season.

Freshman Mat Ball's interception and 15-yard return for a touchdown were the firsts of his career.

Senior tight end Gabe Crecion's 67-yard touchdown reception was the longest reception of his career. His previous long was a 39-yard reception against Arizona State in 1999. This touchdown was the first for Crecion this season. Of his three career touchdowns, two have come against the Beavers.

Paus' 363 passing yards was a new career-high. His previous career high was 332 yards against Oregon in 1999. He completed 19 of 33 attempts for 363 yards and two touchdowns.

Jon Dubravac caught his first touchdown of the year. He has one previous TD catch in his career.

Brian Poli-Dixon had 93 yards receiving on six catches. Poli-Dixon has now made 91 receptions for 1,332 yards to rank 13th on the career reception list and 15th on the career yardage list.

Freddie Mitchell had five receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns and moved into 13th on the career receiving yardage list (1,481) and tied for 15th on the reception list (85). He now has 830 receiving yards on the season, ranking him seventh for single season receiving.

UCLA head coach Bob Toledo now owns a record of 33-20 (22-14 in Pac-10 play) in his four-plus years on the job.

UCLA still owns a 34-13-4 series advantage but has lost the last two games. The Bruins are now 5-2 against the Beavers in the Rose Bowl.
