*Today's attendance was 80,227. With that total, UCLA has set an season attendance record of 470,961. The old mark was 442,850, set in 1988 (7 games).
For the first time this season, the Bruins scored first. Marques Anderson recovered a Chad Pierson fumble in the end zone on the first play of the game for a touchdown. It was Anderson's first career touchdown.
With the 51 yard reception in the fourth quarter, Freddie Mitchell broke Danny Farmer's single season receiving record of 1,274 yards set in 1998. He has 1,314 yards this season.
Freddie Mitchell caught four passes for 140 yards and one touchdown. Mitchell improves his career numbers to 110 receptions for 1,965 yards and now is tied for 8th with Mike Sherrard (1982-85) on the career receiving yardage list and is 7th on the career reception list.
Freddie Mitchell's touchdown pass in the first quarter was his second touchdown pass of the year, and the fourth of his career. For his career, he is 5 for 6 with four touchdowns passes.
UCLA head coach Bob Toledo now owns a record of 35-22 (24-16 in Pac-10 play) in his four-plus years on the job.
USC owns a 36-27-7 series advantage over the Bruins. UCLA is now 7-3 in games played in the Rose Bowl.
Foster ran for 43 yards in 20 carries. He improves his career numbers to 480 carries and 1,978 yards and ranks 13th on the career rushing yardage list.
Quarterback Cory Paus was 13 for 22 for 212 yards and two touchdowns, and is in 9th place all-time in career passing with 221 completions and 8th place in yards with 3,343. For his career, he is 221 for 423 for 3,343 yards.
Brian Poli-Dixon caught two passes for 53 yards to improve his career numbers to 108 receptions for 1,662 yards. He is tied for 8th on the career reception list and 11th on the career yardage list.
USC Notes:
Carson Palmer finished the game 26 for 37 for 350 yards and four touchdown passes. The four touchdown passes is a new career-high.
Sultan McCullough finished the game with 105 yards on 26 carries, his 7th 100-yard game of the season and his career. This is the most in a season by a Trojan since Ricky Ervins had nine in 1989.
