Malibu, CA - The UCLA men's water polo team defeated Navy, 12-5, in the NCAA semifinals to advance to the championship game for the second consecutive year. UCLA will take on UC San Diego on Sunday at 2:30.

After allowing the first goal of the contest, UCLA scored 11 unanswered goals to take an 11-1 lead after three quarters.

Sean Kern, Blake Wellen, Andy Bailey and Brian Brown each scored two goals for the Bruins. Also scoring were Kyle Baumgarner, Albert Garcia, Dave Parker and Dan Yeilding. Goalkeeper Brandon Brooks had six saves in three quarters of play. Sophomore Eric Meadows entered the game in the fourth period and made two saves.

The Bruins will face UC San Diego in the championship game Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2:30 pm at Pepperdine's Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in an attempt to capture their fourth NCAA title in six years under co-head coach Guy Baker. UCSD upset USC, 9-8, in the second semifinal.
