Redshirt freshman Akil Harris' 23-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was the first of his career in just his second career carry. He ran for a seven-yard touchdown in the third quarter in his fourth career carry.
Jermaine Lewis' 57-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was the longest run from scrimmage of his career. His previous best was 33 yards vs. Washington in 1997. His 104 total yards was the second-most in his career (his career high is 113 yards vs. Texas in 1998).
Cory Paus' 80-yard touchdown pass to Freddie Mitchell was his second career 80+ yard pass and the second-longest pass completion of his career. Both of those throws have come against Arizona State. Paus' longest pass was an 85-yard touchdown pass to Danny Farmer last season against the Sun Devils. In addition, the 80-yard reception was the longest of Mitchell's career and is the ninth-longest overall pass play in school history.
Paus' 267 passing yards and 17 completions gave him the second-best passing performance of his career (his career-high is 332 yards passing and 21 completions last year vs. Oregon). Paus had 17 completions in 30 attempts with a career-high tying two touchdowns.
Brian Poli-Dixon's eight receptions tonight were the second-most in his career (his career high is 9 vs. Oregon State in 1998) and rank 13th on UCLA's single-game list. He had 107 yards receiving. Poli-Dixon has now made (80) receptions for (1,180) yards to rank 15th on the career reception list and 15th on the career yardage list.
Freddie Mitchell had four receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns and moved into 14th on the career receiving yardage list (1,210) and 18th on the reception list (72).
DeShaun Foster suffered a fracture in his right hand during the first quarter and did not return. He will be re-evaluated next week. Prior to his injury, he rushed for 30 yards in nine carries, which increased his career total to 1,549 yards in 360 carries. Foster surpassed Chuck Cheshire (1,539) for 19th place on the UCLA career rushing yardage list.
