Bruins Upset by No. 19 Ohio State, 5-2

Madison, Wis. -- The eighth-ranked UCLA women's tennis team fell to No. 19 Ohio State, 5-2 Saturday in the consolation round at the ITA National Team Indoors hosted by the University of Wisconsin. With the loss, UCLA falls to 3-4 on the season.
The Bruins, playing without No. 1 player Sara Walker this weekend, received victories at Nos. 3 and 4 singles as freshmen Lauren Fisher and Mariko Fritz-Krockow each won their matches. Ohio State took the other four singles matches and won the doubles point.
One bright spot for UCLA on the day came at No. 1 doubles where UCLA's Fisher and Petya Marinova upset No. 19 Kristy Dascoli/Monica Rincon, 8-4.
The Bruins return to Los Angeles this week for a Friday match against Fresno State at the Los Angeles Tennis Center beginning at 1:30 p.m. UCLA will host Oregon on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m.
