UCLA Water Polo Knocks Off Pacific, 16-4

Stockton, CA.- The UCLA women's water polo team easily defeated the No. 16 Pacific Tigers, 16-4, in an MPSF conference match-up Sunday afternoon at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool. The Bruins move to 8-2 on the season and 3-0 in the MPSF, while the Tigers fall to 2-9 and 0-2 in the conference.
The Bruins got on the board early and often, scoring six first quarter goals and adding five in the second quarter to go up 11-1 at the half. UCLA dominated the second half as well, outscoring the Tigers 5-3.
Sophomore Devon McIntyre led the Bruins with a career high three goals. Junior Kelly Heuchan kept her hot hand by hitting the back of the net twice and currently has scored at least one goal in six straight games. The Tigers Jessica Schroeder managed three goals in the contest, improving her season total to 25 goals.
The Bruins are back in action this weekend with a three-game homestand. On Friday, March 9, UCLA will face cross-town rival #3 USC at 3pm. On Saturday, the Bruins play #8 Hawaii at noon and will end the homestand with a match Sunday against #5 Long Beach State at noon.
