Sophomore defensive midfielder Aaron Lopez (Santa Barbara, CA/Santa Barbara HS) of the UCLA Men's Soccer Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 9-15.

Lopez scored the game-winning goal with 1:02 remaining in the contest to give UCLA a 1-0 victory over Stanford in the NCAA Championship game. The goal was his fourth of the season and his third in the playoffs. It was also his first game-winning goal in his collegiate career. Lopez was named the tournament's Offensive MVP.

UCLA has now won four NCAA Men's Soccer Championships and a nation-leading 87 overall NCAA titles.

This is Lopez's first UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
