UC Irvine added another run in the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run from Danny McCarthy. After six innings, the Anteaters led 3-0.
Another UCLA scoring opportunity would come in the seventh inning as singles from Ryan McCarthy and Brandon Averill put two runners on with two outs. However, a ground out ended the inning.
Three Anteater runs would score in the seventh to give UC Irvine a 6-0 lead. Back-to-back singles lead off the inning and one run would score on a Bruin error and advance the runners to second and third. The Anteaters would post another with a sacrifice fly to left field before pinch hitter Jaime Martinez singled a run in.
