Bruins close out season with 6-4 victory over Long Beach State

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. - The UCLA Women's Water Polo team closed out its 2004 season with a Third Place finish at the MPSF Championships after defeating Long Beach State 6-4. The Bruins finish the year with a 22-5 overall record.
UCLA got on the scoreboard first as Kacy Kunkel found the back of the net at 4:25 in the first quarter. Long Beach State tied the game at 1-1,but in the second period goals by Katie Flanagan and Molly Cahill would give UCLA a 3-1 lead. Another LBSU goal would make it 3-2 at half. In the third period, UCLA jumped ahead 5-2 with goals by Cahill and Kristina Kunkel. Long beach State would cut the lead to 5-3, but another Kunkel goal would give UCLA a 6-3 edge and ultimately the 6-4 victory.
UCLA goalkeeper Emily Feher continued her outstanding play at the MPSF Tournament, as she finished the game with seven saves.
