Williams and Prosser Win Again

The Australian beach volleyball tandem of Mark Williams (UCLA '01) and Julien Prosser won their second pool play competition at the Athens Olympics Wednesday afternoon. Williams and Prosser defeated John Child and Mark Heese of Canada, 21-13, 15-21, 15-12 in 55 minutes to position themselves for medal contention. Williams led both teams with 21 kills (.552) and 13 digs. He also added three blocks as he and Prosser dominated the net with 10 blocks to none for their opponents. The Australians will await the results of several other matches on Thursday before their next opponent is determined.
