LOS ANGELES, Calif. - After third-ranked UCLA collected victories against Pepperdine and Cal Baptist during day one at the SoCal Tournament on Saturday, the Bruins dropped two one-point matches to #1 Stanford and #4 Cal on Sunday and completed the weekend with a fourth place finish.

An 8-7 loss to top-ranked Stanford on Sunday morning sent UCLA into the third-place match against the Golden Bears later in the afternoon. Cal's Brian Bacharach scored the game-winning goal with 1:18 remaining as Cal escaped with a 10-9 victory over the Bruins. UCLA's 2004 record now stands at 4-2.

Senior attacker Brett Ormsby tallied a total of 13 goals during four matches throughout the USC-hosted tournament.

The host Trojans took first place in the tournament after defeating Stanford 8-6 in the title game Sunday evening.
