Everhart Earns Second All-American honor at NCAA Indoor

Junior Craig Everhart capped off an already impressive NCAA Indoor Championship competition with an individual All-American honor after an eighth place finish in the 400m (46.83) in Fayetteville, AR on Saturday.
Everhart had the seventh fastest preliminary time (46.68) to advance to his first ever NCAA Championship finals race. In the final, Everhart finished eighth in a race that saw the world indoor record fall as Florida's Kerron Clement ran 44.57.
"It was a good run for Craig," said Head Sprint Coach Tony Veney. "It was his first ever NCAA Championship final and he is now a double All-American. It's so hard to score in this meet because there are some of the finest runners in the world competing, and we saw that in the 400m with Clement breaking the world record."
Everhart on the Race
"I was happy and I felt like I ran well. I made one techinical mistake and I can learn from it, but I'm new to running on an indoor track. Last year I didn't make any NCAA final and it felt great to have a spot on that podium today. I'm excited for the outdoor season and know I will be training incredibly hard to make it back to more NCAA finals."
On Friday's competition, the DMR team of seniors Ben Aragon and Jon Rankin, Everhart and junior Martell Munguia finished second in a season-best time of 9:33.60 as all four earned All-American honors.
