SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The UCLA rowing team raced to seventh-place finishes at the Head of the American on Saturday in Sacramento, Calif. The Bruins' second varsity eight boat and varsity four crew each finished seventh in their respective races.

UCLA's second varsity eight finished in 18.20 seconds, crossing the finish line ahead of St. Mary's, Long Beach State, and Sacramento State. Rounding out the top six finishers included boats from California, Gonzaga, Stanford, UC Davis and Sacramento State.

The Bruins' varsity four crew posted a time of 20.19 seconds, finishing behind boats from USC, Stanford and Cal.

UCLA's varsity eight crew was disqualified from the women's collegiate 8+ race.

The Bruins conclude their fall season at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival on Sunday, Nov. 4, in Newport, Calif.
