Junior Tasha Schwikert (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial HS) of the UCLA gymnastics team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Mar. 26-Apr. 1.
Schwikert turned in a dominating performance at the Pac-10 Championships, leading UCLA to its 13th team title and capturing the all-around (season-high 39.75), vault (9.95), balance beam (season-high 9.95) and floor exercise (season-high 9.95) titles. Her four individual event titles this season tied a Pac-10 single-season record, and she has six Pac-10 titles in her three-year career. As the last competitor up in the final rotation, she needed to score 9.725 or better on balance beam for UCLA to win the title, and she easily surpassed that with a 9.95 to seal the deal.
This is Schwikert's second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
