UCLA signee Mattie Larson and the U.S. Women won the silver medal at the 2010 World Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands on Wednesday, finishing just 0.201 points behind Russia.

The Russians, who won their first team gold since 1991, squeaked out the victory on floor exercise in the final rotation to edge out the U.S., who had put the pressure on after recording three scores of 15+ on vault. Russia finished with a total of 175.397, while the U.S. totaled 175.196. China, the 2008 Olympic gold medal-winning team, finished in third place with 174.781.

The U.S. has medaled at every Olympics and World Championships since 2000. Six Bruins have won 10 medals during this time - Larson at the 2010 World Championships (silver), Samantha Peszek at the 2007 Worlds (gold) and 2008 Olympics (silver); Mohini Bhardwaj at the 2004 Olympics (silver) and 2001 Worlds (bronze); Tasha Schwikert at the 2000 Olympics (silver), 2001 Worlds (bronze) and 2003 Worlds (gold); and Jamie Dantzscher and Kristen Maloney at the 2000 Olympics (bronze).
