Bruins Upset No. 4 Gators, 4-1 in ITA Indoor Action

Madison, Wisc. - The No. 12 UCLA women's tennis team closed out the ITA National Team Indoors on a positive note on Sunday, posting a 4-1 victory over fourth-ranked Florida in a consolation match at the University of Wisconsin's Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
In a battle of top 20 opponents, UCLA's fifth-ranked Yasmin Schnack was outstanding on the day, losing just two games in a 6-0, 6-2 victory over 15th-ranked Lauren Embree at court No. 1. Junior Noelle Hickey also posted a ranked win Sunday, taking down No. 81 Marrit Boonstra, 6-2, 6-3 at court No. 3. Maya Johansson clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Claire Bartlett at the No. 6 position.
Florida's lone win on the day came at the No. 2 spot, as 13th-ranked Allie Will outlasted No. 41 Andrea Remynse, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.
UCLA earned the doubles point with wins at court Nos. 1 and 3.
The Bruins (7-1) return home to host Loyola Marymount on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
