Cory Primm earned the first individual All-American honor of his career on Friday at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, OR as the junior finished fifth in the 800m.

Primm came into the race ranked second in the NCAA and USATF after having ran a school record and lifetime-best of 1:45.70 in the semifinal round. He led from the gun in today's final, but with just over 100m to go began to lose his lead. He ended the race in the fifth position with a time of 1:47.58. His time from the semifinal round now ranks third in the NCAA and USATF.

Primm picked up four team points for the Bruin men assuring that UCLA will not go scoreless in the National meet. The men's 4x100m relay will run on Saturday at 10:11 am as the foursome of Jamal Alston, Stan Griffin, Maxwell Dyce and Brandon Smith will look to pick up more team points for the Bruins and All-American honors for the squad.
