The UCLA golf programs will begin the 2010-11 season ranked among the Top 10 teams nationally, according to the GolfWorld Magazine preseason coaches poll released Wednesday.
The UCLA women's team, led by 12th-year head coach Carrie Forsyth was ranked second nationally and the men's team, guided by fourth-year head coach Derek Freeman was ranked seventh.
The women's team returns four starters from last year's team, which placed sixth at the NCAA Championship. The men's team returns all five players who competed in the national championship tournament and tied for 16th place.
Forsyth's team begins its season at the Fall Preview, Sept. 13-15, hosted by Texas A&M University at the Traditions GC.
Freeman's club travels to Karsten Creek GC in Stillwater, OK for the Fall Preview on Sept. 26-28 in its inaugural event for 2010-11.
