UCLA student-athletes participated in the Sports Buddies program on Sunday, May 2 at Camp Max Straus in Glendale, Calif. The program is sponsored by the Jewish Big Brothers and Sisters of Los Angeles, and provides mentoring to non-denominational underserved kids between the ages of 7 and 14. Members of men's and women's volleyball, rowing, and football taught the kids basic skills for volleyball, football, soccer, and basketball. They facilitated activities that stressed the importance of such things as balance, perseverance, unity, leadership and competitiveness.
