
Woepse Vaults To MPSF Indoor Crown

Greg Woepse highlighted the men's track and field team on day one of the MPSF Indoor Championships in Seattle, WA as the senior captured the pole vault crown. Woepse's mark of 17-3.50 was a season-best vault and ranks 20th in the NCAA this season.
Also in the pole vault, senior Casey DiCesare was third overall with a season-best of 16-9.50. DiCesare is also competing in the heptathlon for the first time during his career at UCLA. He currently stands in fourth-place after four events and is in range of first-place. He was third in the 60m (7.19), fifth in the long jump (23-6.25), second in the shot put (41-9.75) and sixth in the high jump (6-4.75) for a four-event total of 3006 points.
Freshman Alec Faldermeyer finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 63-00.25. Junior Nelson Rosario posted a season-best mark in the long jump as he finished fifth (23-10.50). Also in the long jump, junior Taylor Hobson finished in a tie for sixth with a lifetime-best of 23-8.25.
In the 200m, sophomore Maxwell Dyce finished fourth overall in a time of 21.56. Sophomore Damien Thigpen missed the 60m final by .01 seconds as he tied for ninth in a time of 6.94.
Competition concludes on Saturday with the final day of the MSPF Indoor Championships.
