Crawford Runs Big Lifetime-Best In Final Indoor Qualifier

VA Tech Final Qualifier Results
Scott Crawford had a huge race on Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, IN as he ran a lifetime-best in the 800m to finish fourth overall. His time of 1:48.74 was just .74 seconds shy of the NCAA auto time standard and improved on his previous best of 1:50.28. That time ranks 22nd in the NCAA this season and the Bruins will have to wait and see if Crawford will be invited to Nationals.
Crawford also had a big race running the anchor leg of the distance medley relay on Friday night. The team of Cory Primm (1:46.9), Philip MacQuitty (2:57.7), Karlton Rolle (48.9) and Crawford (4:01.07) finished eighth overall with a season-best time of 9:34.78. That time ranks 17th in the NCAA this season and UCLA will be in wait-and-see mode as to whether they make Nationals or not.
Also in South Bend, Alex Crabill was 11th in the 3000m (8:17.78). Maxwell Dyce won the 200m with a lifetime-best run of 21.33, while Karlton Rolle was second (21.76).
In Seattle, at the UW Final Qualifier, Taylor Hobson cleared a lifetime-best of 6-11.50 in the high jump to finish second overall. Greg Woepse tied for third in the pole vault (17-1.75), while Casey DiCesare tied for eighth (16-8).
At the Virginia Tech Final Qualifier, Alec Faldermeyer finished fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 65-3.25. Mark Weber and Bo Taylor both fouled out in the shot.
The Bruins will not wait to see who has made it to NCAAs. Primm has already punched his ticket in the 800m with his automatic qualifying time of 1:47.31. Faldermeyer is also set for NCAAs as he stands tied for 13th in the nation (68-2.25. Jonathan Clark will also head to NCAAs as he is 12th in the NCAA in the triple jump (52-9.50).
