LOS ANGELES - UCLA has officially clinched the crosstown gauntlet competition with USC for the 2012-13 school year. The Bruins lead the current standings 62.5-45, and have mathematically eliminated their rivals from scoring the 60 necessary to win the annual competition between the schools.

The Bruins captured an insurmountable lead in the competition after finishing in second place at this week's Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships, 65 strokes ahead of the seventh-place Trojans.

There are only two regular season head-to-head events remaining in the competition this year: the women's rowing dual meet hosted by UCLA on May 4 in Marina del Rey and a three-game baseball series slated for May 17-19, to be played at USC's Dedeaux Field.

Additionally, the possibility remains that the two schools will compete against one another in postseason play in three sports: men's tennis, women's tennis and women's water polo. However, the season series in each of those sports has already been decided, and the full points have been awarded.
