Freshman forward Sarah-Gayle Swanson (Denver, CO/J.K. Mullen Christian Brothers HS) of the UCLA Women's Soccer Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 5-10.
Swanson recorded her first career hat trick in UCLA's 4-0 win over Baylor at the USC Fila Challenge on Sunday. All three of her goals were scored in the second half, including her third game-winning goal of the season in the 49th minute. Swanson also added goals in the 80th and 85th minutes of the game, putting UCLA up 3-0.
A true freshman, Swanson leads the Bruins in scoring this season with 16 points (7g, 2a).
