UCLA Wraps Up Day Two at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – The UCLA track and field team wrapped up day two of the NCAA Championships, Thursday at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

After four events in the heptathlon, junior Alexis Walker sits in 16th place overall with 3,196 points. Walker started off her meet with back-to-back 916-point performances. She opened with a 14.45 in the 100m hurdles and then cleared 5-8.75 in the high jump.

Walker rounded out the first day of the heptathlon by compiling 539 points in the shot put (33-3.25) and 825 points with a 25.68 in the 200m.

In the 100m hurdles the duo of junior Brea Buchanan and sophomore Trinity Wilson capped off their season by posting times of 13.53 and 13.55, respectively.

The Bruins will continue action at the NCAA Championship on Friday when Walker opens the final day of the heptathlon in the long jump at 12:30 p.m. PT. Senior Natasha Kolbo will compete in the pole vault at 3:15 p.m., while seniors Julian Wruck and Matt Kosecki participate in the discus at 4 p.m.
