
Roberts Named Student-Athlete of Week

Junior attacker Ryder Roberts (Vista, Calif.) of the UCLA men's water polo team was named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 5-11.
Roberts led No. 1 UCLA in scoring last week with 10 goals as the Bruins remained undefeated on the year en route to winning their first SoCal Invitational title. Roberts scored at least one goal in all four Bruin victories. He scored one goal in two periods against Pomona-Pitzer, two goals in three periods against No. 7 UC Irvine, a game-high three goals in the semifinal win over No. 4 California and a game-high-tying four goals in the finals vs. No. 2 USC. He also tallied eight steals, six assists and two field blocks during the tournament. He went a combined 10-for-19 for a shooting percentage of .526.
This is Roberts' first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and second of his career.
