The Bruins' schedule features 32 home games at Jackie Robinson Stadium, including marquee match-ups with Mississippi State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas and 2015 College World Series participant, Cal State Fullerton.

UCLA opens the season with a three-game weekend series against the Tar Heels beginning on Feb. 19. The Bruins other non-conference home opponents include Cal Poly, CSUN, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara. Conference contests include Arizona State, Oregon, Stanford, USC and Washington State.

The Bruins coaching staff welcomed the nation's No. 3 ranked recruiting class (as ranked by Baseball America) to Westwood this fall and will look for those players to make an immediate impact in 2016. The freshman class features five pitchers, one first baseman, two infielders and two outfielders.

UCLA also returns a strong group of veterans this season, including six position player starters from last year's team. The Bruins are coming off one of their best seasons in program history, recording a school-record 22 conference wins en route to the Pac-12 Championship and the number one overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Bruins will be anchored on the mound by pitchers Griffin Canning, Grant Dyer and Tucker Forbes, who were all instrumental in UCLA posting the nation's lowest combined ERA (2.17) last year. Canning, a freshman All-American, appeared in 15 games (11 starts) last season, posting a 7-1 record with a 2.97 ERA. The Coto de Caza, Calif. native struck out 66 batters and walked just six over 63.2 innings, posting the nation's second-best strikeout-to-walk ratio (11/1). Canning retired 10 or more consecutive batters in six different games, including a three-game span (3/10, 3/14, 3/22) where he retired 28 in-a-row. Dyer served in the set-up role last season, posting a 4-2 record with a 1.83 ERA in 42 appearances (second most in the nation). A first team All-Pac-12 selection, Dyer held opponents to a team-low .176 batting average and struck out 65 batters over 59 innings. Another important relief arm, Forbes went 1-0 with a 2.11 ERA in 38 appearances. The Pebble Beach, Calif. native struck out 45 batters in 38.1 innings, logging a team-best 10.57 strikeouts per nine innings.

The UCLA offense will be led by returning senior Trent Chatterton, and juniors Luke Persico and Brett Stephens. Chatterton led the team with a .317 batting average and 23 runs during Pac-12 play. A solid defensive second baseman, Chatterton posted a .968 fielding percentage and turned 29 double-plays, most among UCLA middle infielders. Persico started all 61 games, primarily at first base, and recorded a team-high 13 multi-RBI games. The Stevenson Ranch, Calif. native was second on the team with runners in scoring position, hitting .363, and finished the season ranked sixth in the conference in doubles (16). Stephens, a key top of the lineup bat, finished second on the team with 12 steals a season ago. Hitting .298 on the season, Stephens ranked second on the team in triples (4) and fourth in runs (42). Playing primarily left field, Stephens recorded zero errors, posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
