LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Bruin tennis had a busy weekend on both coasts, as Catherine Harrison and Martin Redlicki competed in the 2015 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships and UCLA men's tennis hit the courts at the Jack Kramer Intercollegiate Tournament.
Harrison, ranked 22nd in the ITA preseason rankings, lost to 11th-ranked Joana Eidukonyte (Clemson) in the round of 32 last Thursday. Eidukonyte lost in the final to Ohio State's Francesca Di Lorenzo, who was crowned the women's champion on Sunday afternoon.
In the consolation draw, Harrison made a run to the semifinals. In the round of 16, the Bruin downed Kansas' Anastasiya Rychagova, 6-4, 7-5. Harrison then ousted the tournament's No. 1 seed Danielle Collins of Virginia in the quarterfinals. In the semis, Harrison fell to Pac-12 foe Klara Fabikova of Cal, who went on to win the consolation draw.
On the men's side, Redlicki dropped both of his first-round matches. After falling to Georgia's Austin Smith (No. 17) in three sets in the main draw round of 32, the Bruin fell to Dartmouth's Dovydas Sakinis (No. 23) in straights in the consolation round of 16.
Back in California, UCLA men's tennis competed in the Jack Kramer Intercollegiate Tournament. After a first-round bye, Gage Brymer got off to a solid start winning two rounds in straight sets. The junior took down Wendell Watanabe (Washington) and Sameer Kumar (Stanford), before losing to USC's Thibault Forget in the quarterfinals, 4-6, 6-3, 5-7.

Tachi lost to USC's Connor Farren, 2-6, 5-7, in the round of 16.
In doubles play, Brymer paired with Cressy to down Pac-12 foes Kumar and Strobel of Stanford, 8-5, in the round of 16. The duo fell to USC's Jake DeVine and Forget, 8-6, in the quarterfinals. Di Giulio and Karue Sell won back-to back matches against their UCSB and Pepperdine opponents. The Bruin pair lost to SMU's Hunter Johnson and Yates Johnson in the semifinals.
