LOS ANGELES -- UCLA junior Garrett Danner (Coto de Caza, CA/El Toro HS) has been named the MPSF/Kap7 Player of the Week and the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week.

He led top-ranked UCLA to an undefeated regular season (25-0) and MPSF record (9-0) with an 11-6 home win over No. 4 USC this past weekend.

He recorded a career-high 19 saves and also tied his career-high of seven steals in the win over USC. Danner made eight of his 19 saves on Trojan power plays as USC finished the game going 2-for-12 on 6-on-5 opportunities. Danner and the Bruin defense held USC scoreless for 16:57 (from 5:56 of the first to 4:59 of the third).

The win helped UCLA remain undefeated on the year and extend its winning streak to 28 games, dating back to last season, which is the second longest in school history and the longest since 1970 (45 years). UCLA has also won 24 consecutive MPSF regular season games, dating back to 2013, the longest league-winning streak in school history.

This is Danner's fourth career MPSF weekly honor and the first during conference play. The previous three all came after a NorCal Invitational title. Danner was the only repeat player of the week this year in the MPSF (Sept. 21).
