The Highlanders raced out to an 18-8 lead when Jordin Canada took a hard fall and was carried off the court. She never returned to the game. UCLA engineered a 40-15 run over the next 23:26 to turn a 10-point deficit into a 48-33 lead after Canada's spill. The Bruins held UC Riverside to just 18 points in the second half and to just 20.0 percent shooting (6-for-30). For the game, UCR shot 34.7 percent (17-for-49) while UCLA shot a season-best 54.8 percent (23-for-42). Nirra Fields led the Bruins with 11 points, five rebounds and five steals. Brittany Crain entered the game as the fifth-leading scorer in the country and was held to well under her average with a game-high 14 points. She was the only Highlander to reach double figures. Corinne Costa had nine points, five rebounds and three assists while Lajahna Drummer had eight points and four boards. Kacy Swain had seven points and two boards.
