Danner Named UCLA Athlete of Week
December 08, 2015 | Men's Water Polo

Junior goalkeeper Garrett Danner (Coto de Caza, Calif.) of the UCLA men's water polo team was named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 30-Dec. 6.
Danner led UCLA to its second consecutive NCAA Championship and its first undefeated season (30-0) since 1969, earning first-team All-NCAA Tournament honors. The MPSF's goals against average leader for the third consecutive year made 19 saves while allowing just three goals in the semifinal win over UC San Diego and then registered 13 saves while allowing seven goals in the Championship game against USC, the Bruins' seventh consecutive win over the Trojans. Danner ended the season with 278 saves, breaking his own UCLA single season record of 262 established in 2013. He also became the UCLA career leader earlier this season and now has 773 saves through his first three seasons.
This is Danner's second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and third of his career.
