
Second-Ranked Bruins Win a Pair of Games at Stanford Invitational

Donohoe netted four goals in a 12-4 morning victory against No. 8 Hawai'i, and Williams scored three first quarter goals and one in the third quarter against No. 4 California to lift the Bruins to a 10-5 afternoon win.
Williams' three goals in the first quarter spotted the Bruins a 3-1 lead before junior Kodi Hill added another for a 4-1 advantage. At 0:03 of the first, Cal's Dora Antal scored to close the gap to 4-2 in favor of the Bruins. In the second quarter, the Bears scored a pair of exclusion goals and the score was tied 4-4 at halftime.
In the third period, Williams, Hill and sophomore Mackenzie Barr each scored for the Bruins, and Cal got its final goal from Roser Tarrago at 1:07. With a 7-5 lead entering the fourth quarter, UCLA silenced the Bears' high-powered offense, and scored three more goals to ice the victory.
In the first game against Hawai'i, UCLA scored four goals in the second period to break open a game that was tied 3-3 with four minutes remaining until halftime. Barr gave the Bruins a 4-3 lead, and Donohoe and sophomore Kelsey O'Brien added a pair of scores to give UCLA a 6-3 halftime lead. Sami Hill made six saves in the cage for UCLA, and moved into 11th place on the all-time MPSF saves list.
The Bruins held the Rainbow Wahine to one goal after intermission and scored six more on shots by Donohoe, Williams, Devin Grab, Alexis Angermund and Ashley Zwirner.
