Class of 2015 Participates in Student-Athlete Graduation Celebration

UCLA Athletics held its Fourth Annual Student-Athlete Graduation Celebration on Thursday, June 11, honoring the 134 graduating student-athletes that comprise the Class of 2015.

Those included were student-athletes who graduated in Winter 2015 and Spring 2015 quarters, as well as those who are projected to graduate in Summer 2015 and Fall 2015.

Football player Jerry Neuheisel and women's tennis player Kaitlin Ray delivered commencement speeches, and academic awards were presented.

Pac-12 Postgraduate Scholarships in the amount of $3000 were presented to Dennis Mkrtchian (men's tennis), Noelle Tarazona (swimming & diving), Chloe Kojima (rowing) and Mike Woepse (track & field). UCLA Scholar-Athletes of the Year Grady Howe (men's soccer) and Ray were recognized, and Mkrtchian and Samantha Peszek (gymnastics) were named UCLA's winners of the Tom Hansen Conference Medal, which is awarded annually to each member institution's outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.
