Wasik Named Student-Athlete of Week

Steele Wasik was named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week.

Sophomore Steele Wasik (Medina, Ohio) of the UCLA men's track and field team was named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 22-28.

Wasik broke the UCLA and MPSF meet record in the heptathlon with a score of 5,783 this past weekend at the MPSF Indoor Championships in Seattle, Wash. The All-American set personal bests in five of the seven events en route to punching his ticket to the NCAA Championships. His score ranks ninth in the country, as he outdistanced the next competitor by 70 points on the strength of winning four of the seven events – the 60m, 60m hurdles, high jump and pole vault.

This is Wasik's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
