Senior midfielder Annie Alvarado of the UCLA women's soccer team was voted the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 1-7.

Alvarado scored the game's only goal in the 27th minute to lead 18th-ranked UCLA to a 1-0 victory over fifth-ranked USC in front of 8,508 fans at StubHub Center. Alvarado pounced on a clearance in the box and volleyed it past the USC goalkeeper for her second goal of the season and sixth of her career. The senior team co-captain played all 90 minutes as the Bruins earned their seventh shutout of the season and their fourth win over a Top 25 opponent.

This is Alvarado first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and second of her career.

This week, Alvarado beat out women's golfer Bronte Law, who was the top finisher in stroke play and went 2-0 in match play at the East Lake Cup, and men's soccer player Abu Danladi, who scored two goals, including the game-winner, in the Bruins' critical 4-3 win at Oregon State.
