MARCQ-EN-BAROUEL, France – UCLA women's tennis freshman Ena Shibahara contributed a doubles victory in the finals of the 2016 Master'U BNP Paribas International Collegiate Team Competition on Sunday to seal the United States' sixth-consecutive title with a 4-1 win over Russia.

Shibahara and Hayley Carter (UNC) clinched the title for the U.S. team with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Anastasia Frolova and Victoria Kamenskaya.

In singles play, Team USA won both women's singles matches in straight sets. Carter downed Alena Tarasova 6-4, 6-1, while Francesca Di Lorenzo (Ohio State) edged Kamenskaya 7-6, 7-5. On the men's side, the United States split with Russia, as Chris Eubanks (Georgia Tech) defeated Ivan Davydov in straights and Strong Kirchheimer (Northwestern) fell to Vladimir Korolev in three sets.
En route to the crown, Team USA downed Ireland in the quarterfinals and Germany in the semis. In USA's 5-2 win over Germany, Shibahara and Carter dispatched Julia Thiem and Jill Engelmann 6-1, 6-1. The American pair also registered an 8-1 victory in Team USA's 6-1 win over Ireland. Each match consisted of two men's and two women's singles matches, one women's and one men's doubles match and a mixed doubles match.
