UCLA women's soccer volunteer coach Aline Reis has been called up to Brazil's National Team camp in Comary Granja in Teresopolis as the team prepares for the Algarve Cup in March in Portugal.
Reis, who has coached UCLA's goalkeepers since 2013, mentored NCAA career and single-season shutout leader Katelyn Rowland. The two-time All-American finished her four years at UCLA with an NCAA record 55 career shutouts and an NCAA record 19 shutouts in 2014. Rowland also led the nation in goals against average in 2014 and 2013. Reis was an All-American herself at Central Florida, earning second-team honors in 2008, and she also received NSCAA Scholastic All-America honors twice. She finished her career ranked second in UCF history in career saves (347), fourth in shutouts (27) and sixth in goals against average (1.04).
Following her collegiate playing career, Reis played professionally in Finland with Seinajoen Mimmiliiga.
The Algarve Cup takes place Mar. 2-9 in Lisbon, Portugal. Brazil is in Group A along with New Zealand, Portugal and Russia.
