No. 4 UCLA Holds Off No. 9 Stetson

DeLAND, Fla. -- No. 4 UCLA (9-4) won the first three matches on courts three, four and five to seal a 3-2 victory at No. 9 Stetson (16-3) on Saturday afternoon at the Stetson Beach Invitational at the Cooper Beach Volleyball Courts on the campus of Stetson University.
The Bruins won the first point on court five when junior Laurel Weaver and senior Julie Consani defeated Stetson's Alexa Richardson/Jamie Walsh in straight sets, 21-18, 21-15.
UCLA went up 2-0 on court four after junior Jordan Anderson and freshman Zana Muno defeated the Hatters' Madison Akins and Samantha Harris in straight sets, 21-13, 21-16.
The Bruins clinched the match on court three when the UCLA's duo of senior Kamila Tan and sophomore Ivey Schmitt defeated the Stetson tandem of Emily Carroll and Kaylee Anderson in straight sets, 21-18, 21-15.
Stetson picked up it first point on court two when Rachel Noble and Kristin Lind held on to defeat UCLA's duo of sophomore Elise Zappia and freshman Izzy Carey in three sets, 21-13, 15-21, 15-13.
