SAN FRANCISCO - Three-time All-American Corey Pavin was named to the Pac-12 Conference All-Century Team, as announced on Tuesday.
The 12-member teams were voted on by a panel of 30 consisting of coaches, players, administrators and media. Each member of the team was chosen based on their collegiate careers in the conference.
Pavin (1978-1982) was the Pac-10 and NCAA Player of the Year in 1982, as well as the individual medalist at the '82 Pac-10 Championships. He won 11 collegiate tournaments (six in 1978-1979, five in 1981-1982) and also participated in the 1981 Walker Cup, as well as the 1982 Masters and U.S. Open, while still a collegian.
The winner of 28 professional tournaments worldwide, including the 1995 U.S. Open, Pavin was named to the All-Pac-10 Team all four years, earning league Golfer of the Year honors for the first time in 1979. He guided the Bruins to the 1982 Pac-10 title. Pavin was inducted into the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame in 1992.
