USA Faces Russia at Spieker July 24
June 20, 2016 | Women's Water Polo
UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Center will play host to an Olympic tuneup for the USA Water Polo Women's Olympic Team on Sunday, July 24. The U.S. will play Russia at 2pm. Tickets are on sale now HERE. General admission seating is $15 for adults and $12 for youth.
Team USA has strong UCLA ties, with five Bruin players among head coach Adam Krikorian's 13-woman squad. The five Bruin Olympians are senior Rachel Fattal, incoming freshmen Maddie Musselman and UCLA graduates Sami Hill ('15), KK Clark ('12) and Courtney Mathewson ('08). UCLA has now produced 16 women's water polo Olympians, including five two-time Olympians such as Mathewson. This is Krikorian's second Olympic Games as head coach. The former UCLA coach and student-athlete guided Team USA to gold in 2012.
The July 24 game at UCLA is the second in a three-game California series between the two nations. The first will take place July 21 at Cathedral Catholic HS in San Diego, and the final game will be held on July 27 at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center.
