WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – The Bruins shot a 7-under 281 on Friday and reside in a tie for ninth place after 36 holes at the Amer Ari Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings' Course.

Junior Corey Shaun continued his outstanding golf with a third consecutive round under par, firing a 3-under 69. He is tied for 19th (-5, 139) entering Saturday's final round and is 9-under in his last 54 holes of competition. Shaun started slow with bogeys on his first two holes, the 15th and 16th, but then went on a birdie binge. He made a birdie at the turn on the 18th, the first of three in a row. After dropping a shot on the third, Shaun added birdies on #4 and #5, as well as #8 and #9. A bogey on the 13th dropped him to 3-under for the round.

Freshman Hidetoshi Yoshihara is tied for 33rd (-3, 141) following a 2-under 70 on Friday. He birdied his opening hole, the 14th, as well as #18 and #4, finishing his round with a bogey on #13. Sophomore Cole Madey is tied for 36th (-2, 142) after posting a 2-under 70 in round two. Starting on the 13th, he made birdies on #14, #2, #4 and #12, adding bogeys on the third and 10th. Junior Tyler Collier is tied for 61st at 1-over (145). He was even-par on Friday with birdies on #18, #1 and #5 to go with three bogeys. Sophomore Matt Hutchins is also in a tie for 61st after shooting a non-team scoring 1-over 73. He made six birdies in his second round on #16 (first hole), #18, #1, #4 and #6, but also had four bogeys and a triple.

Live scoring for Saturday's final round will be available here. It will be another shotgun start on holes #11-#15 in the order of Yoshihara, Shaun, Madey, Hutchins and Collier.
