SAN FRANCISCO - Fresh off two more victories last month, including an impressive performance at the Pac-12 Championships, sophomore Lilia Vu was named conference Golfer of the Month for April, her second straight month receiving the award.

In her first tournament of April, Vu tied for first at the Silverado Showdown (April 9-11) in Napa, Calif. to record her third victory in a row. She rebounded from an opening-round, 2-over 74 to set a UCLA single-round record with a 9-under 63. Vu completed the tournament with a 1-under 71 to post a three-round total of -8 (208) to become just the second Bruin to win three tournaments in a row.

A couple of weeks later, Vu became the first Bruin to win four straight events, winning the Pac-12 Championships (April 24-26) in Tucson, Ariz. by six shots. It was the second around again that was key for the sophomore, as she shot a 6-under 66 after opening with a 1-under 71. Vu closed with an even-par 72 for a 54-hole score of -7 (209). 

Vu earned the third Pac-12 Golfer of the Month award for UCLA this season (March release). Bronte Law was named Pac-12 GOM in November.

The Bruins, the top seed in the Lubbock Regional, will begin NCAA Regional play on Monday, May 8 at The Rawls Course.
