LOS ANGELES – Coming off a historic season opener on Sunday, UCLA Football (1-0) will host the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors (2-0) this Saturday at the Rose Bowl. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. PT.
Parking lots for the UCLA vs. Hawai'i Gameday presented by UCLA Health will open at 8:00 a.m. Fans are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and pre-purchase parking online here for a $5 discount off on-site pricing.
The Rose Bowl offers one of the best tailgating experiences in college football, with a variety of options for pre-game celebrations. The Fan Zone presented by Ralphs opens at 9:45 a.m., and the UCLA football team will make its way through the Fan Zone to the stadium for the traditional Bruin Walk at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Rose Bowl gates open at 12:30 p.m., and the first 10,000 fans to enter the stadium will receive a free sunscreen sample, compliments of Coola Suncare.
Fans are encouraged to enter the Rose Bowl early to minimize wait times. As a reminder, enhanced screening procedures, including the use of electronic security equipment at all gates, have been implemented at UCLA Football games. The Clear Bag Policy limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into the Rose Bowl. The policy is designed to provide more consistent screening and to expedite fan entry.
Saturday's honorary captain is former UCLA All-America running back Johnathan Franklin, who finished his career as UCLA's all-time leading rusher (2009-12) and went on to play in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers. Fans should be in their seats by 1:30 p.m. to witness pregame festivities, including a National Anthem performance by the UCLA Bruin Marching Band. Pregame festivities also will include a parachute demonstration by Team Fastrax, America's Skydiving Team.
In recognition of the efforts of our first responders during the recent area wildfires, two local firefighters will be honored on the field during the game. In addition, UCLA is proud to host local firefighters at the game this weekend.
Saturday marks Pasadena Appreciation Day, when UCLA and the Rose Bowl will show their appreciation for their neighbors in Pasadena, including city employees, residents within one mile of the Rose Bowl and Pasadena Unified School District employees and staff. UCLA will welcome 20,000 1st through 8th grade Pasadena Unified students at Saturday's game.
At halftime, one outstanding Pasadena Unified School District teacher will be recognized and presented with a gift card to fund $500 worth of classroom improvements, as part of the College Football Playoff Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers initiative.
Halftime, which will be 15 minutes instead of 20 as part of a test program by the Pac-12 to improve the viewing experience for fans in stadium and on-air, also will feature a United Spirit Association performance by high school cheer teams.
Following the game, 10,000 UCLA Football schedule posters will be distributed to fans at exit gates.
