Bucknell's Cooper Dolan got the Bison on the board first with a goal from the front court at the 6:27 mark of the opening period. Then Farmer scored from two meters to give the Bruins the lead for good (4:47). The Bruins got back-to-back goals from the front court from senior Alex Roelse (4:10) and Brozyna-Vilim (2:50) to build a 4-1 lead. The Bison would make it 8-4 after a nice drive and finish by Marko Djordjevic (3:24). Farmer answered with the final goal of the period (1:34) on a counter attack to give the Bruins a 9-4 lead at the break.
The Bruins lost the third quarter, 4-3. After Brozyna-Vilim completed his hat trick (7:17) with a goal at set to put UCLA up 10-4, the Bison reeled off three straight goals. The first two came from Dolan (4:18 and 3:02) to complete a hat trick for the sophomore from San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Djordjevic added his second goal (1:54) to make things interesting with the Bruins leading 10-7. Farmer would complete his hat trick from two meters (1:18) to push the lead to 11-7. But Joksimovic would earn his hat trick from the front court (0:50) to cut the lead back to three goals at 11-8. Just seven seconds later (0:43), freshman Nicolas Saveljic would net his first goal to end the scoring in the third with the Bruins leading 12-8.
