The victory puts Brady in elite company, as she joins Barbara Gerken (U.S. Open quarterfinals, 1981), Patricia Hy-Boulais (Wimbledon fourth round, 1997) and, most recently, Kimberly Po (Australian Open quarterfinals, 1997 and U.S. Open fourth round, 1998), as former Bruin tennis alums to advance to the Round of 16 in a Grand Slam tournament.
In Brady's two seasons at UCLA, she accumulated two All-American selections, Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year honors and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Draw in 2015.
Brady will next face the winner of Maria Sakkari and Mirjana Lucic-Baroni in the Round of 16. For more information, visit USTA and UCLA Women's Tennis on Twitter.
